Every Gift
No Matter How Small, Helps
Many TLC Patrons have chosen to honor a special teacher, coach, professor, youth group leader, parent, or someone who made a real impact in their lives with a gift to TLC.
Many of the tributes are for teachers. We believe that teaching is one of the most noble of noble vocations. In that sense, all who dedicate their lives to helping kids learn are kindred spirits.
Empowering every citizen to be a philanthropist, the TLC program provides many ways to help accomplish this historic mission. Individual financial contributions are an essential component in making Professor Know-How's Lab possible. As a public charity, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) requires that a minimum of 30% of donations come from individuals. In other words, the IRS doesn't permit a few wealthy donors or big corporations to carry the entire load. You can think of every contribution you make as being matched, or more accurately doubled, by those who are able to give in larger amounts. This is why your participation is so important.
Most of what you give goes directly towards the training of our classroom presenters and the instruments they use in the classroom. In essence, you participate by providing the money to buy the tools and our volunteers participate by providing the labor. The fact that you feel moved to make a contribution, no matter the size, says a great deal about you and how you identify with our mission.
The Technology Learning Center is a charitable IRS section 501 (c) (3) organization. As a non-profit corporation, we rely on the generous contributions of individuals, corporations, foundations, and public agencies to fund our many educational programs. Gifts are welcome year-round, and are tax-deductible.
